New test results released by the FDA found that bird flu virus is making its way from dairy farms and into milk processing plants but also confirmed that the commonly used flash pasteurization method fully neutralizes the virus.

This is what I mean by hygiene theatre.
The 6 ft rule is not applicable with Covid-19, and people don't know that. It's an outdated guidance.
Covid is much more akin to cigarette smoke. Think of a smoker having a cigarette near you. Smell the smoke?
It's that level of exposure.

you can have clean air. You'll just have to pay for it in small, disposable tanks you wear in a backpack.
Don't worry, we'll have subscription-based models, and preferential employee pricing. Students will also get a complimentary 30 minute tank to enjoy on the first day of school.

If the mini HEPA unit works, I'd consider it.
I'm just wary of "clean" theatre, where people ritualize behaviour that doesn't make anything cleaner or safer.
Like bozos wearing masks under their chin or nose insisting that they "wore" a mask, or coughing directly into hands w/o washing them.

Don't planes already have massive HEPA/air filtration systems?
What is the efficacy of a small, personal unit in that kind of space?
I think I'd rather just keep wearing N95s to be sure.

only the super rich could afford to use magic, and magic users ran into penury and debts if caught.

my players did not enjoy going into a city that banned all magic, except for licensed clerics.
They needed $$$ to buy permits to cast certain spells in public, and fire magic was expressly forbidden.
There were mage-hunter secret police who used hand cuffs that expended all spell slots when worn.

That's excellent.
D&D/pathfinder sheets are a bit of a pain in the arse, especially for new players.
In terms of VtM 5e, I wish their sheets had larger sections for disciplines (but only because my players need to write down whet their abilities do because we only have 1 core book among us).

that's a really nice looking sheet, dude. I like it.
If you make a sheet, are you going to format it to be a fillable document? Or just for printing?

Today was the last day of school and my kids had decent report cards.
Very proud of them.
My son's gr.7 teacher said my kid had an opinion on the job action and strike business:
"Give em Hell" 😆

2. They think the world revolves around them, and they are entitled to push their opinion, so being shut out or silenced is seen as an attack.

I used to work for a brewery, I understand people like to have drinks - but by the end, I was losing my voice trying to speak over the cross-chatter to answer player questions, and often, repeating myself 2-3 times - because they'd had too much to drink and they get loud.

We held a session zero for Vampire the Masquerade with all first-timers (some of whom have years of D&D experience).
I'd expected it to take a couple hours to have snacks, create characters and cover basic rules.
It took 5 hours to just finish character sheets. They couldn't get focused at all.

I've currently use an iPhone for work and Google Pixel for personal.
1. I miss the precision and speed of the Blackberry tactile keyboard. (It sucked at everything else.)
2. Google Pixel is vastly superior to iPhone in terms of features & ease.
3. iPhone snobbery is without merit.

Agreed.
What the government and church did to indigenous peoples is a moral and social failure, a lingering poison that harms us all.
Truth and Reconciliation feel like baby steps. We gotta do better and do the work, every day.

I have used TFTL character prompts and framework ever since, for every setting, including D&D and Vampire the Masquerade.
The players who have played D&D before say this every time: "I wish my old GM did it this way!"
And TFTL is a beautiful game.

Tales From the Loop has a really easy D6 system, but what's baked into the PC creation is a sense of the character's trauma, worries, and their personal connected to someone who can help them overcome their fears and hurts.
The core book gives you prompts to ask your players to consider

It struck me that even though farmers were a huge part of their base, the influence of oil and gas was part of the impetus for a rebrand.
In terms of identity and inclusion, the next rebrand in my view, would feature indigenous art/influence, rather than economic or rectangular influences.

Back in the day, when the visual ID and rebrand occurred around 2010, I asked someone leading the push "why" abandon the wheat sheaf.
Their reasoning was "It looks old and dated, and we are more than just wheat. Oil and mining are huge parts of our economy too, much more than wheat."

It's still in use, it's on buildings, signage all over the place. I think ministry of Ag is the primary on it now.
But there is something about the sheaf that captures hearts and minds.
