Indifference and a coarsening of expression will be the legacy of AI-generated text. Most people prefer good writing to shitty writing but have not thought about aesthetics enough to care that a text is garbage. They will just lose interest instead of thinking "this sucks and here's why."

Plenty of room for in-depth study of the world while becoming a top-shelf professional athlete. You just have to read the right books, in between working out six hours a day, massage, hot tub/icing, sleeping eight or nine hours a night, and weighing your food for each of your five full meals

I had no dearer friend than Steve Albini. I loved him. More critically he was an asset to the world he lived in. Generous, brilliant, weird. Got better with age. Left things in a much better spot than they would’ve been without him showing up. Zero chance this gap created by his death is ever filled
