Bought some marigolds and the cashier made a peonies joke and we both said the most iconic line in all of cinema, then realized there was a mom with a small child right next to us, whups.

I’m torn between pacing myself and trying to hurry up so I can experience the finale of Junior Year with everyone else.
…but also I think I spoiled myself a bit with a quote that hit my little ace heart WAAAAY too close.

There was a serial killer a couple towns over when I was younger. Never was caught, but all likelihood pointed to him having been a cop.
I mean.

This is basically the current historical sequence we are living in. Someone produces a product or service that makes a profit; finance or hedge funds take notice and take over with the idea that they could make more money; things gets worse; and then DEI is blamed as the most immediate scapegoat.

Eg, now realizing I made a typo. My copay for mental health is $25, not $50
So literally it’s twice as much when I’m being treated for adhd even tho the office visit costs the same.

(Incidentally, I primarily see him for ADHD. Which is not “mental health” for some reason.)

Ready to hear something beautifully stupid about American medical insurance?
If my psychiatrist says an appointment is for ADHD, he’s a specialist, so my copay is $50
But if he says it’s for depression, he’s mental health, so my copay is $50

Ugh, that’s horrible.
Our bistro would basically load closing staff with any leftover batch food at the end of the night (I ate a lot of Fancy Mashed Potatoes), and the tourist place I worked let us grab any about-to-expire stuff too. Can’t imagine treating staff like yours did.

That is not my experience. And also not a gamble I’d like to take with a welding torch

So what does that have to do with property values increasing? Wouldn’t it be better to just stay in the home you have, instead of expecting to sell your house for a significant retirement-on profit?

The thing is, with adhd, that happens…SOMEtimes. But not every time. Not necessarily even most times. Our ability to focus, even with the right stimuli, isn’t really predictable. Careless mistakes, on the other hand…

I’m both and tbh to me it just seems like a bad mix for adhd. Anything that *requires* you to deliberately turn on your full focus and not make any careless mistakes is…kinda dicey.

I was shocked to learn that lots of national chains don’t even comp you a meal when you work. Even as a dishwasher at a little bistro I got that much, and it was usually the best meal I’d eat that day

Yup, you are not entitled to someone else's poverty so you can have the cheapest possible convenience food.

Why should property values have to increase for people to retire? Maybe people should stop buying homes as investments to sell for more money instead of as places to live.

Man, if they’re so worried about damaging a “Sedona treasure” I guess they could…provide housing?
And the bit about “boosting the local economy” is just icing on the crapcake…

Ok but y’know one of those little unimportant things I miss as an adult?
Easter egg hunts.
Still think they should have some for adults. Add some booze to make it harder.

How many times has LibsOfTiktok doxxed people and they remain but you make one Hans Kristian Graebener post and you get hit by the orbital laser. I'm beginning to think Mr. Musk has an agenda!

Aaaarrruuugghh…
I WAS getting better. I felt better. I was even going to go to a friends house this weekend once I tested negative. I hadn’t even gotten chest congestion!
But apparently Covid rebound is a thing. And now I do have chest congestion. Ugh.
