Yeah in my experience the Democratic party has been pretty uninvolved in actually fixing anything. All the major activism is done by groups like DSA or RTR, with the democrats only interested in inclusion only when money is involved or to water down good legislation.

What concerns me here is leading democrats are making the assumption that Trump will not succeed in his aims and that there will still be a viable Democratic party in 2028. Like most liberal parties, at a national level, they seem to be unable to take the existential threat of fascists seriously.

I had to scroll far to see this. Just wanted to add that Malthusian thinking is very useful to capital because it keeps people atomized. Collective action in the interest of survival will inevitably mean a loss in profit, and ultimately some degree of redistribution.

I think at this point the lack of meaningful action taken by politicians in industrialized nations encourages more disruptive forms of protest. At some point people would rather do property damage than do nothing as capital commits ecocide.
