Biggest tragedy is that I can't find your findings. Biblical scholarship is fascinating and often has counterintuitive findings (if you're expecting them to conform 1:1 to traditional narratives, anyway)!

But I think extending that to the idea that interpersonal violence will atrophy and disappear in the post-capitalist society is just fantasizing about the eschaton. No theory is going to enact a system that eliminates a human's capacity for violent anger whilst also respecting human freedom.

Their risk is different, in that it is primarily financial, not personal. They have the ability to liquidate various assets or pull from those deferred savings at a penalty. A person who "stereotypically" lives paycheck to paycheck risks eviction and hunger (which is worse). The framing is dishonest

IMO it's depressing but not "odd" (ie uncommon or abnormal) beyond the obvious hypocrisy, because it's well in line with standard societal expectations for how men should perform masculinity. The patriarchy hurts men too, and this is one way in which even non-men uphold it.
