Analysis by Aaron Blake | Biden’s campaign insists dropping out of the race is not on the table. But increasingly, what top Democrats appear to be saying is: Maybe he should.
The subtext is clear — and it’s a marked contrast to how the Biden campaign is talking about this.
Why bother to cover how the Republican candidate is an obvious demented moron who has explicitly threatened to shoot his enemies and deport tens of millions, when you can have fun spreading rumors and gossip instead?
Top Democrats have been telling us for a few years now that “everything is fine, age is experience” why are they trying to screw themselves now? The time to say/do something was two years ago
That's nothing new: inertia rules the world, and we humans r notoriously lazy thinkers. It might be too late to replace the President in the race. It should've been done at the start of the campaign, with all due deference, homage etc. That would have made the Party and its new nominee look strong.
The subtext is that @washingtonpost.com has spent the last week writing about "Biden should drop out" while they haven't said a word about the a racist, criminal madman.
