The school probably just wants the protests gone for commencement. They'll not push to keep the punishments for the kids as a "settlement", but graduations will go on and that's the real win for the school

Boycotting a product works because there’s an incentive for businesses to chase every possible dollar. Boycotting a political process dies not work because there’s no incentive for a politician, as the number of votes doesn’t matter — their percentage of the votes actually cast does.

Also, it's a 6 BR house, so him and his buddy are hoping to rent out the other four rooms. Which is smart, but he thinks his other nuke buddies will just pay rent and everything will be hunky dory and I'm trying to help him make sure he protects himself

We live in Maryland and the cost of this house is...more than I expected 2 19 year olds to qualify for and I'm not totally terrified yet, but would love to have an expert in CA realty talk to us. I found out about this after his offer got accepted...I don't drink but this is making me consider it

So you don't start a third party/proportional system at the top. You put in the work at the local level and watch it grow. It takes years if not decades of organization/hard work to make that happen. Until you do that, not voting for the (far) lesser of two evils is actively damaging the USA.
