Just finished âDisquiet Godsâ audiobook by Christopher Ruocchio Vol 6 in his âSun Eaterâ SF/Fantasy series. These books are gaining popularity so fast publishers canât keep them in stock. See reviews of them on YouTube. Compared to Dune, but much more. Thought provoking, erudite & entertaining. âïžâïžâïžâïž

It seems like there are an inordinate number of posts on Bluesky lately from people who, unbidden, preemptively skeet that they donât like something that is popular with many other folks, with little or no rationale.

Has a very fertile imagination. A born writer. Well defined characters. Reminds me of Adrian Tchaikovsky in that he can turn out a considerable amount of fiction without missing a beat. Likes taking chances & pushing boundaries. Iâd prefer more brevity, but thatâs my common complaint in SiFi/Fantasy

I agree with your review. Bear in mind that Ruochio was only 22 when it was published, so thereâs some âkitchen sinking.â A young author feverishly throwing everything into the hopper to succeed at their trade. Iâm into vol 7. He matures as a writer, although at times heâs still overly verbose. đ

âFascesâ were on the reverse of the Mercury dime.
âA bundle of rods with a projecting axe blade, carried by a lictor in ancient Rome as a symbol of a magistrate's power, and used as an emblem of authority in Fascist Italy.â Mussolini appropriated it as a symbol of strength for this Party.

Just turned 74. I look at it as Iâve experienced about 6 lifetimes in the same body, sequentially, starting older in each one. We share memories.

Same with my so-called âSmart TVâ & associated streaming devices. If someone patented âRestartâ 100 years ago, their descendants would own the Planet.

Starting when I was a kid, Roger Corman produced and or directed more memorable films that I saw over the years than any other individual. Films like âHouse of Usherâ & âPit and the Pendulumâ scared me senseless & introduced me to Poe & horror. And the early SiFi films motivated me to read more SF.

Iâve been unfollowing people I followed because their bios showed they have professions, areas of interest or expertise that Iâm interested in, only to discover that they post compulsively about things that have nothing to do with their bios, are irrelevant to me & not entertaining. Caveat emptor.

Late to the party, but have to recommend Christopher Ruochioâs âSun Eaterâ series. Iâm 4 vols into the audiobooks. The 1st was published when he was only 22 & his craft has developed prodigiously with each one. Very engaging. Natural story teller. Erudite. Been compared to Dune, but highly original.

I am a regular consumer of Audible audiobooks & average 2-3 titles a month. I have yet to see an AI narrated book either recommended to me by Audible or show up in any searches I do myself for new listens. I found a sample AI narration on Amazon.com. At best, equivalent to a very unskilled human.

LG OLED TVs are outstanding. Used to be out of our price range, but we got one 2 years ago when their prices came down substantially. Amazing picture.

I feel you pain but typically itâs the audiobookâs producer/director working for the audio publisher thatâs ultimately responsible for pronunciations, not the narrator. The narrator is voice talent, not an expert on pronunciations. Pronunciation guides are essential, as well as QCing after recording

Iâm listening to the âDemon in Whiteâ audiobook from Audible & really enjoying it. Christopher Ruocchio has a prodigious imagination & itâs satisfying watching his skills as a novelist mature with each new book. Nice twists & turns in this one with a big reveal. âșïž

Well, heâs had plenty of experience with star players tuning him out after the first season, so thereâs that.

Except this article doesnât say that INEOS has made a definitive decision. Itâs says they are weighing a number of negative factors that may result in his termination, but no yet. Unfortunately, misleading click bait is ubiquitous in sports reporting on social media.

I donât see a downside for me for Audible.com recommending some audiobooks based on what I watch on Amazon Prime TV. Both services already make recommendations based on what I access & Iâve found that very useful. Itâll be interesting to see if they come up with anything I didnât already know about.

If you have an Apple TV box, you can now install the Surfshark VPN app on it and specify youâre in a different country, for example, Belgium. DL the streaming app for the national TV network you want to see a geo restricted bike race on & voila, watch it on your big screen via AppleTVđŽ#Procycling
