The murder victim in the cave painting could have been a scapegoat, it could be a depiction of a mythological story, it could be a triumph over a stranger,it doesn't prove much without further information from the culture that made it.

I need to read the article properly, but the argument veers very close to eugenics. Cooperation is present in every task that groups must do and coordinate, it must not be murder. Also, I can't see the recession of the bullying genes that much. If violence was driving evolution it's rather war imho
