I had the chance to read the first issue, and it's amazing.
The lore is deep and we want to know more, the characters are originals, but it's not a surprised with Kieron's writing 💗
And, OMG, Caspar... I'm so jealous, I wish to be so talented and a master with pastel colors like him 😭

This is one of my things, especially when I read a CO book - that I'm bemused why they decided to tell me a story. CO is really hard.

I covered Reading for the NME once - 1999? Compo prize. Afterwards, they said "you did good. We want to use you again." I walked away, insanely happy. I'd actually done what I wanted to do.
I woke up the next day, looked at the ceiling of my tent and said "But I don't want to write for the NME!"

I'm going to reach out to Image about the timing on issue 1 on Comixology - last time I checked it wasn't there, so I'm presuming issue 1s go up... at some point. But I'll update when I know.

It's a shame ludocrats never became the next Saga, as Otto's belt buckle would have been amazing merch.

It was a "1980s name, with that sort of attack, this will do as a stand in name until we nail it down" and all of a sudden, it's "Wait - we're launching a book called The Wicked + the Divine" again.

Please, everyone. It would be politically seismic, hope dawning on the broken wasteland the Tories left behind, and most importantly of all it would be so fucking funny.

That's interesting, and makes sense but I stress - I've lived here through several elections now, and there were noticeably more Labour posters in this safe Labour seat in all the other ones.

Yesterday, I was walking through my neighbourhood (Lewisham - a strong Labour seat) and saw something which gave me pause. I realised I'd only seen one Labour poster in a window. We know enthusiasm is low, but that really drives it home. That implies something about turnout, which makes me worry.

I went to a great gig last night. What sticks with me is its conclusion, which I adored. All the music cut out and the singer's vocal line jumped several octaves to exhilarating effect! It ended on a high note.

@kierongillen.bsky.social sent over issue #1 of THE POWER FANTASY, and it's incredible as expected. There's a quiet confidence to this, the first chapter of what is clearly meant to be a novel in comics. And @casparw.bsky.social's ascension to comics godhood continues apace.

It'll be interesting to see what you make with it. I just said to someone else "It's complicated."
But Caspar is doing wonderful things. The shiny sci-fi is one thing, but I can't get over his New York in 2.

Caspar's doing great stuff. What to show and what not to show is the battle in any of these - Haven was a borderline one, but felt essential in showing the bits of the book we hadn't shown at all yet. Plus a bunch of other Atomics, obv.

When I originally started these, I was just doing something pithy, but then realised I probably should hint at what the person actually can do, which is suddenly a lot. more work.
