Yes we know about the banal evil of neoliberalism and the freakishly over the top evil of trumpism. But what about the cartoonish, Saturday morning "what practical use is this for ANYBODY" evil we were told about when we were five and kinda wrote off as ridiculous when we were six?
Lets find out!

Last couple weeks I have just been more anhedonic than usual. Im not into anything at all and I dont know if events have shifted priorities and interests or if Im just broken.
Not sure where to go or what to do (dont mock me by suggesting therapy, as if I could afford that)

Cask of Amontillados story line is the Language Arts equivalent to what the Mitochondria does and what the pythagrean theorem is. My off the cuff answer is two fold.
1. The illusion of choice in a ratchet strap "democracy" has to make it seem like there are changes in power.
2. Election coverage is just sports for nerds. It has to look like a contest down til the wire otherwise people will stop watching. Also, ad money.
