Measles is the most contagious virus we know of, can cause devastating complications, and increases vulnerability to *all* infections. Itβs horrible and deadly, and we have the tools weβd need to *eradicate* it. We canβt afford to let this get out of control again.

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

Partner here. My total wasn't even that bad, but my LDLs are high which fucked up my ratio. Statin hasn't been any issue other than it does leave me a teeny bit achey some mornings, but it's honestly less than if I just went to the gym.

If youβre going to be gathering with people over the holidays, you can potentially save your loved ones a lot of pain and grief by doing a rapid test first and staying away if you test positive or feel at all unwell. Missing out is no fun but being the cause of someone elseβs illness would be worse!

Hotez is spot on. I'll add, finishing a book about the emergence of germ theory, that it's been just long enough since the post WW2 vaccine revolution that the misery thus eased has faded from memory. Malign assholes don't remember or care about was gained and how tragically much we have to lose.
