I also would really like to see legacy US media avoid re-electing Donald Trump for its own good - because it seems like too many of the people behind legacy US media don’t really grasp that they’re near the top of a Trump dictatorship hit list.

Two years after Roe v. Wade was overturned, Texas leads the nation in funding for crisis pregnancy centers. The system is meant to help growing families, but it’s riddled with waste and lacks oversight, a ProPublica and CBS News investigation found.

A good reminder. I don't know if Biden's mental state is a serious cause for concern or not, but we're seeing *exactly* the same playbook that was used on Clinton, down to the "allies are concerned" articles. And Clinton is *still* doing fine.

It’s amazing the extent to which our billionaire tech bro overlords are just telling us out loud that they are rooting for fascism. Makes me slightly nostalgic for the days when American plutocrats plotted against democracy in secret.

Another fantasy:
Biden, getting a question from Maggie Haberman about taking a neuro-test, answering, “You seen the other guy? On stage he spouts nonsense sounds. He forgets who he ran against last time. He didn’t do the job last time-remember “executive time.” Why do you think he’s up to it now?”

look - I'm receptive to both "no, it's gotta be him" arguments and "he's gotta step aside" arguments. not to be wishy-washy but both arguments have merit. "then we do a tourney" is OTOH flatly hilarious. yeah that'll go great. there will much much unity in the wake of the electoral deathmatch

Among the many evils of "crisis pregnancy centers": they are not medical providers and so do not follow HIPAA or medical privacy ethics. Instead, they gleefully give away (to right-wing orgs) and sell (to data brokers) all information you give them.
They should be illegal.

He doesn’t even bother to disavow Project 2025’s aims, but the fact that they’re shying away from direct association with it demonstrates that it’s a vulnerability. If the press is looking for something new and substantive to report on, they could start with the dystopia that these folks want for us
