I texted for Warren and I can't tell you how many times people told me they liked her, they wished they "could" vote for her, but they thought Biden would win. It's not a conspiracy, it's a long history of a certain kind of person being president and Dems freaking out about appealing to centrists.
I voted for her despite her dropping out before our primary. Her name was still on the ballot. At that point, Biden had the nomination. While I want change, I donāt we can underestimate the sexism and racism of the average voter. We can just hope those āaverageā voters die off.
I called for her in some places like Nevada and Ohio (iirc) and got the exact opposite reaction, but I couldāve gotten some bad batches (seems like most of the folks I called were right leaning at the very least)
Not to rehash 2020, but sheās a good example of how I think you do have to make some calculations. The Native stuff would have been a massive liability.
The time to vote for your favorite candidate is in the primary. By the time my state voted Warren had already dropped out, but I was going to vote for her.
Yep, same. Primaries followed by a general, with totally different electorates, is a shitty voting system for this reason! Voters aren't wrong to vote strategically! And looking back at the eventual 2020 result, I'm not sure Warren would have pulled it out.
