Some initial thoughts on the UK elections. 1. It confirms once again that when a center-right party veers to the hard right to weaken the far right, it ends up doing the opposite. After purging moderates and going full-on wingnuts and fever swamp, the Tories got decimated by Reform, not Labour. 🧵

From the chancellor that was caught making up cancer research, the huberman lab stuff, the sbf stuff… I could go on. Maybe I’m drawing conclusions unreasonably. I feel like an Internet Observatory style idea could find a home at another uni no problem tho. Its a good idea.

Mike this sucks. That said, I’m not sure that Standford was the right venue? Its always seemed the most clearly right wing and recently the ivy uni with the weakest moral centre. Just off vibes.
