Used to be the former, but am now the latter except for the Tiger Balm. Ear plugs feature frequently as a 4th item though. Now if I could just find a small, preferably hands free, bag I was happy with, things would be golden.

I just watched 14 tiptoe into the dining room (where the roomba thing lives), freeze, and then pounce on it with both hands like he was trying to catch a wild animal. It was on its base and not moving. I have some questions.

I still think it is one of the most wonderful short stories. Up there with "Love, Your Only Mother" by David Kaplan. A beautiful example of how you don't need a whole novel to tell a vivid story. Just not sure kid me fell into "ideal target audience".

This story has always stuck with me. As a 7th grader being beaten regularly, my reactions to the ending were... clearly not what my teacher had expected. I think I traumatized her asking why the woman still believed anyone would help and not just watch. And why were my classmates crying about it?

I recently posted a thing about my daughter blending flour into whipped egg for cake batter *by hand*. As in, hands in the batter. Someone commented on kids being literal. So I added a photo of the instructions from the culinary school cookbook- that included photos of hands in the batter.

We are through ep 4 and my daughter (10) is so attached to it in... weird ways? Like, she points out to her dad that for her these things are normal with some heavy undertones of pointing out where he isn't seeing how she is having a hard time.
