The stance of the sclerotic Democratic leadership that "a strong Republican Party is important" is deeply unserious and is one of the most directly controlled opposition type rhetoric they use consistently across congressional and DNC types.

Worldview is just an attempt to sound more philosophical than just using "ideology" since ideological is political, and politicians in the US think politics is bad.

To be fair, SNP and Plaid don't run in the same districts so it's a bit wrong at the national level. Obviously STV would make this less weird where you can win a majority with a very low popular vote. As bad as the Electoral College in the US

The wildest thing about this is how much this scenario emphasizing the right wing getting screw by FPTP. Labor 38, Conservatives and Reform UK, 35. The split will cost them a huge amount of marginal seats to not only Labour but the Lib Dems

Clearer statement of and understand of affirming trans people and transness more generally. A 72 year old federal judge shows more support than many self-identified liberals I know.

Glad something kicked up earlier in the month. I assume some bars in town are going to do improvised special cocktails, like all the stuff when Trump got convicted and the death of Henry Kissinger.

The second part of my series about flaws in historical and social skepticism is up. A third part (maybe the last, not sure) will go up in about a week, I'm headed out of state for a wedding.

That is a very thorough enumerated list of unconstitutional measures. Some are the worst parts of the Florida law, but others I think would not be viable without the others- the judge did not consider what constitutional measures would exist vis-a-vis their foundation.

I'm curious what this would look like in a SCOTUS case. Gorsuch has a lot of fairly libertarian opinions (bad for vaccine mandates, possibly better for getting the state to leave them alone). Maybe with Roberts you get a 5-4 that like Planned Parenthood v. Casey is narrowly upheld, better than zero

So I'm bored and can't do actually productive poetry or Substack social theory stuff, so I'm 40 lines into a "what if Slim Shady was T4T" and includes the line "Nut in them/their mouth, call it gender fluid."
I wonder why I don't relate to people at church talking about the symphony and opera.
