not a new sentiment, but it has to be particularly galling for women to have to not ruffle any feathers, smooth all egos, assuage all issues, do three times better, and still end up at the same level as some absolute chud whose leg up in life dangles between the others.

my old neighbor was a lawyer and once we were all sitting together and I called something my wife said "slander". Neighbor didn't even look up from her coffee "it's not slander if it's true..." My wife uses that to this day.
