Thinking about it that way, saying “oh, we just won’t ever have any abuse at this institution where adults have close contact with and power over minors, a thing that attracts abusers” would be ridiculous.

I got to see a Stealth bomber up close at Nellis AFB during an air show, and the pilot explained how the design enables it to avoid radar detection. I’d assumed it was some sort of magic anti-radar box but it’s just geometry. What an incredible accomplishment of engineering and design.

Watching the British election returns I feel compelled to point out that the 650 person House of Commons represents 67 million people and the 435 person House of Representatives in the United States represents 333 million. Replace the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929. We deserve representation.

Today I learned that Dan O’Bannon said Ernie, the mortuary owner in Return of the Living Dead (which takes place July 3-4) is meant to be an escaped Nazi SS officer in hiding. His scenes are packed with clues, most of which I’d never noticed. I just thought he was a paranoid weirdo!
