The University of Mississippi student who made the monkey noises at a Black woman has been kicked out of his fraternity.
Phi Delta Theta announced his removal today.
Earlier, the UM NAACP called on UM to expel Phi Delta Theta member JP Staples.
This illustrates an extremely common American view of racism, which is that "racism" only occurs in specific circumstances when you use a slur, make monkey noises at people, wave a Nazi flag, or wear a KKK hood. The less overt, more subtle, more systemic things? They're just heterodox opinions!
I'm worried for him. That kind of ugliness can have repercussions. For example, somebody might decide to beat his worthless ass into a coma. And that would be a tragedy. A very unfortunate loss for society, even.
