This is probably part of why everyone on bluesky is 38 years old: 38 year olds are basically the only people who consider it totally normal to flee a sinking ship and then just casually resume the conversation on the tropical island they end up on. They've outlived dozens of ships.

Reminder: whatever you think of teenagers' use of social media (and the reality is a lot different than most people believe), it is impossible for a site to treat teenagers differently than adults without deanonymizing and identifying every single visitor to the site, including adults

This sort of analysis seemed inevitable. It also still seems wrong. Like, the whole framework for finding when privacy has been violated seems wrong. It was a weak framework that of course would lead to results like this.
