Unemployment has been at or below (mostly below) 4% since the end of 2021. 4 years ago, Trump called it "joyous" &"stupendous" that unemployment was only 13.3%. In the "booming" Reagan years, unemployment averaged 7.5%. Pres. Biden is presiding over historically strong growth.

59 years ago today, Griswold v. Connecticut guaranteed the right to birth control. Justice Thomas says the Supreme Court should "reconsider" that ruling. And this week, 38 GOP senators voted against the Right to Contraception Act. Republicans are coming for birth control.

Quite seriously, several Dems are being tried in Fed & State courts. The diff is the party isn’t backing them after they’re found guilty, & often ditch them before then.

GOP on the other hand, just cries foul against the same system they love when it backs only them.

The answer from the MAGAs is always "investigate the investigators, prosecute the prosecutors" even when there are average people of a jury involved. I'm simply astounded more people can't see beyond this BS.

Recently we were deluged with stories, based on preliminary Michigan survey results, about how consumers had gotten much more pessimistic about inflation. Now the final numbers are out; here’s 1-year, a smoothed moving average, and 5-year. See the surge? Neither do I.

Civil servants of all stripes have limitations on what they can put up in front of their own homes and what they can say or do when their position is known, when in uniform, etc. SCOTUS should not be treated differently.

My impression of breed-specific legislation is that it’s more security theater than anything else.

This study out of Denmark showed no meaningful change in dog bites requiring hospital treatment before and after legislation:

Most people, I think, would be shocked at how little firefighters and EMTs make in general. Police make much more & I’m not sure why they’re valued more highly than those who literally go into fires and wrecks to save us (and often our pets).

After reading this, my thought is “how can you not love your child enough to take the time to help them when they are struggling and they’ve asked for help?” Even if you’re not connected enough to see they need help, love them enough to listen.

Why do you have to be Lebanese? Za’atar manaeesh are delicious every day, any time. Wish I could make them as good as they were when I bought them in Dearborn though. I stopped even trying years ago.
