My 40m2 apartment in the city is all I need. I tried the big house, big garden, double garage life in the outer suburbs but it was what my ex wanted, not me. Banks absolutely should give mortgages to owner/occupiers for apartments - it would actually prevent them turning into slums.

Coupla weeks ago I had a craving for onion dip and impulsively purchased the culley's soup mix instead of the regular. big mistake, huge, it totally lacked the magic, my craving was not satisfied at all.

I have a squeaky metal bed frame, assembled by me a few months ago. It is mildly annoying but I haven't done anything about it and I'm thinking this is something that may need a man's attention. Unfortunately yet no man has been in this bed. I'm hopeful that soon I may get some assistance with this.

Yesterday morning I awoke from a terrible dream where a dachshund was being eaten alive by a snake and then this morning I woke too early and checked insta and saw a clip of a dachy inserting itself into a cushion (to get cozy) in a way that resembled my dream way too closely.

I can hear my sister quietly snoring in the next room. This is comforting because it means that my typing isn't too loud and that the fold out couch is acceptable for guests. I am way too neurotic about crap. I wish I was asleep.

When Archives NZ announced they were slashing their opening hours in 2019 they cited two main reasons: declining user numbers and the need to focus on digitisation. 1. They are a public service, not a commercial radio station. 2. The digitisation programme has now been canned.

Oh! I just heard one of my favourite sounds! This afternoon I made a small batch of kiwifruit chutney. I find the cute little ’Pop!’ of the jar lid as it cools to be such a delightful treat. (No idea if the chutz will be any good, I went way off recipe.)

haha I yelled at a bunch of cops once, was also naked. (woke to a commotion outside my open window in the night, pulled back curtains to tell whoever to eff off, turned out to be police chasing down a burglar who'd jumped my fence)

I agree Book Exchange is a better term. Ramps are essential but steps valuable too. Lots of people have trouble with imbalance, and for people who are mobile but tire easily, steps win over a slope. I live on a steep city street and I WISH we had more flat surfaces to pause.

Bit weird tbh if one of your major "joys" in life is driving so fast you're demonstrably at risk of killing a child, a neighbour, or a pet in your neighbourhood (or colliding head-on with another vehicle full of people in a rural area a long way from first responders). Libertarians are peculiar.

I saw a guy sink and get stuck thigh deep. There were loads of people around to get him out but if he’d died it would’ve been from a heat attack. It was a pretty stressful situation.

so I was out tonight and someone came up to me and my buddy, he seemed like a loose unit but ok, turns out he remembered me from like 20 years ago, we actually went on a road trip together, I may have been a little tipsy and thought it was cute he remembered me so I booped his nose

For me there were three big ones- a tv documentary around the Communion alien (and that book cover staring at me at the book store); the earwigs in Wrath of Khan; and the earthquake scene at the start of Clan of the Cavemen (mum sent me to bed after that).
