Good news there is Harris has been kept at arm's length for most of the administration. Word is that Jill took the segregation attack during the '20 primary debates especially hard and doesn't like Harris much.

I think the discussion was had, if only perhaps within the top of Biden's campaign or family, which explains how quiet he was even to other party leaders for a week there, and now we have their answer.

That's kind of what I think of. A black person could've been born in 1880 a few years after reconstruction ended, lived a full 75 year life, and passed away days before Brown v Board. But their life was not futile despite that.

That one asshat said something like "America as a Propositional Nation" so it all goes back to Jeffersonian v Jacksonian. They want a blood and soil America as defined before the 1965 immigration law changes.

The issue as is often the case is Democratic policy requires affirmative support of the law whereas Republicans can just wreck shit to win.
For instance, if somebody gets illegally deported that's a fait accompli, if someone has student loans improperly waived those can reappear.

Continental Philosophy provides a few non-Catholic bases for this too. You have the choice to live on and fight on despite everything, and this is *amplified* by the fact that there's no guarantee of any particular outcome, good or bad.

The plan is for a hung parliament to take the wind out of RN's sails, Macron never bet on actually winning but to bait RN into a situation where they would trip over themselves after failing to reach a majority.

Need to build more housing, that's the only solution. West Virginia has higher levels of drug addiction than California but lower homelessness per capita because pop decrease means housing is abundant and dirt cheap enough that a low-functioning addict can afford a bed.

Shows how much they care about black voters, really. First the guy who won because he was the only leading contender with black support and second the woman who helped cement his win by rallying black support in the general.

The editorial board is there to tell us peons what to think. We Democrats ought to be ashamed having a candidate who (checks notes) is old and has a stutter, not like those masculine Republicans.

and this illustrates why center-right parties tend to do better in the main along with their structural advantages due to capitalism and other exploitative systems, and why center-left parties mainly win on *defending* wins they've made and not advocating for new ones.

This is also true. We dislike losing more than we like winning, so the less rational parts of our brains will emphasize threats and threat avoidance more than opportunities.

I don't think Biden did poorly after the slow start but there's just no value in having debates as a whole if nobody will answer the damn question. Needs to be a rule for the next one, if you start talking about other shit, mute.

Really this is Ryan Walters flailing after getting smacked in the face by the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
This is not to downplay the problem but Walters' is a special case in overreach and even Gov. Stitt (mainline GOP asshole) hates him.

There were two DC Superhero Girls, one that was just direct-to-video movies for the toyline and one that was made by Lauren Faust in like, 2018-2020 or so. Screwed by CN in broadcast but not as badly as Justice League Action, lol.

Explain why a creep like Latimer with an oppo history a mile long is winning a closed primary against a well-funded incumbent, unless that incumbent is, in fact, bad at this.
From what folks on Bluesky have shown me beating Latimer should be a layup and its not like Bowman lacks funds either.

Money only works if it finds a willing audience, as the post-Citizens United environment has shown. Latimer seems terrible but Bowman seems uniquely bad at retail politics and addressing his actual constituents and that plays in a good-ol-boy like Latimer's favor, alongside the money.

I will say "auteurs" in gaming are rare, it's a *very* corporatized art form in terms of the products being recognized as belonging to the company (studio or publisher). Active male auteurs include Sakurai, Kojima, Sakaguchi, Schaeffer, and Levine. Few others, and "active" needs quotes for some.

Amy Hennig is close but her stuff keeps getting stuck in development hell.

My hypothesis is race and the economy are the dual tracks across US political history - they are separate but support the same railroad-of-history - with the economy track first being "should we be farmers only or allow commerce" and then being about economic justice under commerce.

It's not the anxiety of being poor as many of them aren't poor, especially in such a low-COL area. They *feel* poor and feel that their way of life is being destroyed and have only reactionary answers to that problem.
Not a formula for a lot of sympathy.

If we're talking about the *ideal* of Ph. D. level intellect, it would be the ability to take a large body of research data and infer something *novel* about it.
The former is right up the alley of LLM's but the latter is the kind of reasoning it simply isn't designed for even for basic topics.

I only did amateur moving once, into my first solo apartment, and that was mostly because the furniture I had was all coming from my parents' place so they handled the heavy moving, and the bed was brand new.
Even on a meager salary pro movers were a must.
