I’m cringing listening to community members in Kelowna trying to get a public institution to purchase/operate this historic house. The house museums that already exist are barely surviving-I can’t imagine a new one gaining the financial support needed

100% serious: just got closure on a case of plagiarism (by a professor at u b c) today, only to get a phone call from my mum (!) this evening to tell me that a poplar bc-related magazine appears to have completely plagiarized an article that i co-authored. have just looked into it, and shes correct

which is more troublesome: advertising auto tourism in the fraser canyon in a princeton-based paper, or associating auto travel through the fraser canyon with alcohol consumption? from the similkameen star, 10 may 1951.

You will never know what you will learn reading a Canadian history book. Today I discovered that Pierre Berton played a character on the classic show Rocket Robin Hood. It was just described as a humanoid, and I couldn't find anything else about it. Wish I could see the episode

i suspect the reason the journal with the radical take on history will not acknowledge this as having been taken from my work without acknowledgement is that to do so would indicate that the author "borrowed" from my diss as well as my monograph and my personal flickr collection. #systematic

students find the analog-ness of it kind of fun, but its very useful for emphasizing how much work it takes to make notes and keep the in a semi organized manner, whatever them format(s) one might be using. i assign it along with some other items, as seen here
