I suspect the pipes go different directions depending on how that income increased. Far too many professions have oppression, exploitation, or defraudment of others baked in the cake, and once you decide that's a fair price to pay for your own success....

Yes! I shoot models (including myself 😀) and often utilize found references as well. I've collected books and stuffed file cabinets with references, but I find digital more functional in the studio. My laptop is a fixture at the edge of my drafting table displaying slideshows while I work.

This thing has happened like 98 times (probably like 3) in the last day. Someone says "here is a great use of AI" It is not a great use for AI. I ask if it is a joke. I literally cannot tell. The AI shysters have made sarcasm impossible to detect unless I actually know you very well.

one thing that I struggled DESPERATELY to point out at the time, and that every single media outlet just kept cruising by: Courtney wasn't just talking about another writer. She was talking about the owner & and an editor of a publishing house who were speaking out to defend hiring a KNOWN racist.

This has the same tenor of Ian Bogost's AI piece a while back. They're acting like this technology is inevitable when it's not only not *there* yet, it has no path to get there. AI cannot do the work of human creativity. But pretending like it can is useful for devaluing that work.

Another key concern I have about our current shift to video-based media over writing is that it so often requires the person making the media to be *physically attractive* to succeed (even if there are some workarounds for this) Text and pure audio at least don’t demand this of people

Tucson Rodeo Poster. The challenge of this class assignment was to analyze & emulate the style of a famous designer from a list. I chose Stefan Sagmeister who is more famous for his edgier work & hand lettering but also had a number of works exploring mosaics and overlays that really fascinated me!
