Since you have to click into the post to get the URL anyway, the only UI they need for this is to put a little cross-out slash through the share button. That'd be plenty for me, then I could just look at the icon before copying.

My opinion is that anything posted on a social network like Bluesky, Twitter, Mastodon, etc. should be considered 100% public-- you can make it "slightly" harder for info to leak or be searchable, but only slightly. If you need PMs, use something that provides really secure ones

Well on desktop I always copied the URL out of the browser's URL bar, so if it was on the clicked "share" button it wouldn't do me any good. I guess I'm a dinosaur, now that everything's mobile-first

The problem is that Bluesky has no UI to tell me whether previews are turned off BEFORE I paste the link in and I just have to wait for it to succeed or fail-- I really wish they'd fix that bug! Thanks for clarifying your position.

Once again I found a perfect house but I can't afford to move there because the rates are now about 7.5%. My current house is actually worth MORE, but I'd have to get a new mortgage to move and that'd bloat my monthly payments like crazy-- why can't I just move my existing mortgage to the new house?

It uses your normal Steam library, so you can buy from the web or the Steam app on desktop or presumably the phone app (although I've never tried that myself). It basically works just like the Steam app, it's just a bit of hardware that can only run that one app

The funny thing is Valve has come up with a fast-login system where you can take a photo of a QR code on the phone app and skip a bunch of steps-- but guess what? The Steam Deck has no camera. So they can't actually use the scheme THEY came up with.

Once when I worked retail I had a guy chew me out about my bad service-- on Black Friday when he was checking-out a FULL HOUR after the (already extended by an hour) scheduled store closing time. As I was helping him load some heavy flat-pack furniture into his car. After that nothing surprises me.
