my only disagreement with Frum is that I think the whole party has, unfortunately, gotten pulled into the rot, so counterfactual Haley isn't going to save us either. but the general point is correct: this should be horserace, not an existential fight
Even aside from the pragmatic problems with it: When it's clear that democratic elections will only continue to exist as long as one specific party always wins them, then you already don't have democratic elections anymore, but something qualitatively different.
