The problem with Trump is his followers don’t care if he’s a fascist criminal because a good number of them are fascists too.
Either that or they’re just ignorant of how horrible he is. The right-wing seems content to elect a fascist over someone who might push back to the left even slightly.
This isn't a national party problem, this a white voter problem. White male voters especially. Were it up to the majority of them no Dem would have won the Presidency since LBJ. The fact that Trump is going to win a plurality of this vote (again) says more about them than the Democratic Party.
If Democrats really wanted to beat the GOP and weren't just playing good cop to their bad cop while the world burns and the 1% get richer, they absolutely would find a way to do it
like allying with the left to pass popular reforms, but the people who fund both Dem & GOP don't ever want this

The two-party system is just not working. There should be more than two parties and better representation for the diversity of political views that we have as a country.
