I mean the fucked up thing is if Kent State happened again it would have the same poll numbers blaming the kids for getting shot and forty years from now people would go “oh that was so awful, those kids in 2024 were right to protest, but this is different” as Kent State 2064 was about to go down

People learn nothing. Once "don't stick hand in fire" was 2 or 3 generations old, you can be sure one of our ancestors said "that's bullshit, I'm sticking my hand in the fire" and we learn nothing. We keep doing the same dumb shit over and over but sincerely believe we are the products of progress.
