I had a horrible dream where I think I was watching the news and something called "Exclusionary-passionism" rolled across a red, white and blue backdrop. It was some silly, ridiculous faux-ideological term to justify discrimination on a wide scale. And I just wanted to punch right through the dream

Very much agreed on the lower r. I want happy queer men to exist both in singledom and in love and all the things inbetween without the relationship being under the microscope in the story.

One of my exes was Colombian and being with him in Cartagena def. was starting to help me make connections. Like my level of understanding is so much higher than my ability to communicate which can be a little frustrating. If anything, it taught me so much empathy and patience for folks here.

Stuff like that just makes me so curious! I love language. One of my great life regrets is not taking the time to learn another one when I was younger. If linguistics could pay my basics, I think I would have done that too.

way things get structured in Arabic and I can absolutely see it coming through when he's writing in English. Doesn't bother me in the least helping him. I actually find it so intriguing how methods of communication can be so very different. Honestly, its a great task for my style of worldbuilding

So one of my very best friends is Syrian and English is his third language. He knows I write and asks me to look over stuff he does from time to time. I find it so fascinating that the "errors" are really just him translating languages in his head. I pester him with questions so I know some of the--

I loved this Black queer spy-vs-spy novella. A fantastic twisty plot full of desire and betrayals and some incredibly fucked up magic systems (which mirror the horrors of the empires that wield them).

I'm in BEATING HEARTS & BATTLE-AXES w/ some incredible authors. Sword and Sorcery w/ romance (lower R, cuz that's important): My story is about a gay, married mercenary couple having to decide if defending their homophobic hometown from a dark god is worth the trouble and bringing up old wounds.
