This is a decent synopsis from when you first asked about it. It was a notifications issue, it never crashed phones, and it was fixed before you joined. There was a sanctified hellthread purposefully allowed to continue existing for fun after the fix so maybe that is confusing you.

If you check the comments here you can see that it’s already referred to in the past tense by the time you joined. The bug was fixed by May, only the sanctified hellthread was allowed past then. It was just a notifications issue due to server side problems. It didn’t crash phones; you’re confused.

The notification issue you are referring to got fixed in March of 2023 (before you joined Bsky), it was an issue for like a week. Afterward they allowed the notifications to persist just in that one thread because a lot of people liked it.

They didnt, they were both repeatedly harassed and are leaving the senate. Remember Sinema hiding in a bathroom when students confronted her while she was teaching her professor courses, or protesters blocking Manchin from his yacht? Its not enough but they definitely got a lot of heat

So because 20% of people who voted in 2020 weren’t typically voters… … that means 20% of unlikely voters now need to included as “likely voters”? That doesn’t seem right to me. Am I wrong?

It’s been a while since I was there, but I believe I saw servers with different word limits. A quick search seems to show you can easily modify the length since it’s just a var in a .js file Never was clear to me as a newb how diff servers dealt with custom emoji, custom lengths, etc.

Don’t different instances have different rules about post lengths too? And one is never sure that if your server disallows a certain length whether that means you miss posts from other servers, or vice versa…

For me part of it was that likes were only visible within an instance, it felt impossible to know how popular something actually was. No reliable like/comment ratio. Things frequently loaded slowly and some things wouldn’t load at all. Felt like you might not be seeing posts you chose to follow.

Also just the pseudoscientific talk about neurochemicals. Dopamine is just a general agonist. Dopamine signals like half the stuff in your brain, from moving your legs and arms to regulating puberty hormones. Dopamine/serotonin/whatever isn’t science-speak for happiness chemicals.

They didn’t really bail him out, there were only 11 GOP members who voted to vacate against 196 GOP who voted to keep him. Most of the vacate votes were Dems. The concession is that unlike his probable replacements Johnson is willing to pass a budget and not crash the economy before the election.
