the things that are good about 3d- heaviness and volume and form, physical presence- all abandoned in in order to make the models look like anime (unshaded with fake outlines). and all the good things about anime (expressive design) abandoned for the workflow convenience of rigged models

there must be an instinct we have to make things that are bad as abstract and ideological as possible. if you can reduce something bad to an idea rather than a phenomenon it makes it easier to compartmentalize i think
