Checked the replies and for some reason it seems I'm the first to say: "Freedom for Tooting!"

I too voted at 11AM. Very busy polling station. This looks good for turnout! The staff said they will all be working the whole 15 hour shift, but they are paid & have refreshments provided.

Short queue here, where there isn't usually one. Also a little old lady who forgot to send her postal vote and gets help filling out a form to submit it. Also two 80-something little old ladies who need help on how to use the ballot paper - so prob not frequent voters. Feels like pple are motivated.

FWIW, I had no queue, spent 10 seconds figuring out which table was mine, then 30 seconds while they found me on the list. Walking, voting, and dropping in the box took maybe another 60 seconds, and I was in and out in about two minutes here in Norn Iron. I've seen worse. Especially in Texas.

I think people need to read Mark saying "queuing" as "queues". He hasn't been waiting for hours to vote himself

Our polling station was busy but I also had a proxy to put in for my son in law at a polling station further into Glasgow, at Shawlands, and it was absolutely rammed.

That's insane, I'm in W11, went at 10.20 and there was nobody else there. Was assured it was busy earlier. No tellers either which is rare. Did see Tory candidate door knocking as I walked home.

Just checking -- you mean there was a queue first thing, and you've been past it again now and there's also a queue? Not that people queuing at 7am still haven't voted yet? (Lots of replies seem to be taking the second meaning.)

The Australian Electoral Commission is cunning. They make us vote on Saturdays and recruit heaps of teachers to ensure queues are negligible or non-existent. Then the democracy sausages. Only way to ensure Aussies don't rise up against compulsory voting.

The bigger the turn out the better, they’ll spin it no matter the result (even a landslide defeat) if the turnout is low. Although this could be because of the whole ID thing 🤔

I've voted here in Mid Cheshire in the old workhouse. Today is a labour vote to end poverty and austerity. The irony was not lost

Not the same people, surely! Does voter turnout have an impact on the predicted times of seat results tonight?

Three voters at the polling station in Machynlleth at 10:30am: me, and two older women talking to the poll workers about how their husbands couldn't vote because the ID they thought was good enough wasn't (in one case, gun license).

Exercised the franchise here in West Oxon as lunch time. Steady stream of voters. LibDem and Labour tellers outside cheerfully cooperating on taking poll card numbers so as not to hold people up. Tory teller sitting on his folding chair six feet away, looking down at his clipboard.

Busier than usual here at about 10:15am, with quite a queue forming when I was leaving. It's the first time I've not seen a Tory teller hanging around outside - not that I would have given him my details anyway.

Nice. I’m Tooting too. (But from afar.) Will be interesting to see how the left vote spreads in that safe Labour seat.

Low turn out at mine but then I guess in a safe Labour seat and with FPTP a lot of people don’t see much point.

My polling station is in a pub. I’ve rarely encountered another voter there (it’s a very low population rural area) but, two today! Practically a mob!
