interesting! I am team Sun so generally not team Fog. That said one day when I was hiking in LA I saw the "marine layer" roll in in real time. Clear day when I started, 90 minutes later blanketed in fog. That was a cool experience.

NYC was founded (New Amsterdam) in 1625 as basically a trading post / fort so it didn't really develop beyond Canal St for 100 years or so. There's still a lot of Dutch influence (lack of alleys, stoops, rowhouses) but New Orleans feels much closer to modern Europe
