News to me: The heritage uniforms worn today by the SF Giants honor their predecessor West Coast Negro League ball club, the San Francisco Sea Lions. The uniforms have a bear, rather than a sea lion, mascot because they were bought from the defunct semi-pro San Francisco Cubs team.
