Assuming charitably that they mean the 1970s, the US child mortality rate in 1970 was 26/1000, whereas in 2010 it was 8/1000. Too bad so many more survived to go to school? (/sarcasm)

I -know- I keep running into people who say "thirty years ago" and mean the 1960s or 70s. I myself have trouble with saying "twenty years ago" when I mean the 1990s, but I have mostly managed to update that script.

-So- good. The first night I got here I was surprised at how tidy his eyebrows looked (he typically has fairly wild flyaways.) Some of the nurses had been grooming them for him. ❤️ And a whole bunch of great doctors.

patreon continually getting worse frustrates me greatly because it's literally a money printing middle-man service where all you've gotta do is keep the lights on and comply with banking laws, but instead they hoover up venture capital just to flail endlessly and make things worse for their users.

So, now both of my parents have broken their necks riding horses well after retirement age. Dad is not having as miraculous an escape from major consequences as mom did - currently still in rough shape. But able to respond to questions, and even showing his sense of humor.

"Southwest Mpls Dems" is meant as code for a particular group of almost all well-off, almost all white people, often with real estate interests. There are plenty of perfectly nice Dems in SW Mpls, and plenty of members of this group who don't live there.

Absolutely. I think from the outside, people think Ihan wins bc she leverages immigrant communities in Minneapolis. But that's not it - she's adept with SO MANY different groups of people. Even the Southwest Mpls Dems* who don't like her, don't like her in large part -because- she's so competent.

I'd be more inclined to view this as an abusive or overly-broad discovery request if there had been fewer media plagiarism scandals over the last couple of decades. That said, this is a fairly aggressive defense tactic, and one that's intended to distract from the primary issues in play.

Coordinating family travel in midst of other major stressors. My sister finds the idea of taking a train off-putting, even tho it gets one to within 100s of feet of the destination. I find the idea of taking a Lyftbor taxi in that situation incomprehensible. (Thankfully not traveling together.)
