Obviously nothing but respect and solidarity for people protesting on these campuses, but I'm surprised at the disgust I feel not just for the politicians cashing in some consequence-free state violence credits but the Speech Warriors cheering it on. They want to make the whole country their HOA.

"HOA" is a perfectly stated metaphor. Just a bunch of self-centered mediocrities trying to make everyone else follow their rules and their values. And normies see right through their BS. This is why I shell out for Defector.

It's not about aesthetics, obviously, but there's this idea that fascists are Leni Riefenstahl pole-vaulters and generals in black. That's the brand, and it is sticky. The fascists all around us are in the stands, clapping. Formerly normal-passing people who embrace that fandom and become monstrous.
