Some context: the Florida State Guard, capped at 1,500 employees, received a $107.6 million budget in July 2023. What? Don’t I mean the National Guard? Nope. The State Guard was disbanded at the end of WWII, when the National Guard came home. In 2022, De Santis resurrected it.
