Spent this past long weekend bike packing north of Gothenburg. My lowest resting heart rate comes when I’m sleeping outside in a tent (43!). Like 5-8 beats lower than even my restful nights in a super comfy bed (49-51). It’s wild. Spending time outside is the best, and my heart knows it.

Honestly I chase dark skies. Obviously I timed my location (Great Basin National Park) and time (≈3 AM), but this was the first time I’ve ever seen the entire arc of the Milky Way across the sky. Just perfectly obvious and clear - there it is. Unfortunately an iPhone can’t capture all of that.

This medication is the standard of care for this particular problem. This person has had a good response on this med for 23 months. It is taken for 24 mos. Stopping abruptly will result in losing much, if not all, of the bone that was formed over the last 23 months. Why do they get to do this??

Don’t mind me. Just at my kids’ tennis practice, sitting dead-eyed on the phone with my insurance overlords trying to figure out why a medication that has been covered for 23 months is now requiring PA in the last MONTH (!!!) of the patient’s treatment. Why do we live like this? WHY.

I learned some weeks ago that the Appalachians originally was in the same mountain range as the Scandinavian "Skanderna" and the Atlas mountains in Morocco. The Central Pangean Mountains. Found that fact to be immensely awesome :)
