This happened to me around 2012. Two deputies bust into my home & arrested me for missing court. I spent 3 days in lockup. Only I hadn’t missed court and the rationale I eventually got was that the paperwork must’ve been misfiled. It took 16 hours to process me out & I lost my job.
I’m so sorry, that shit has to be traumatizing (I was going to say, particularly the breaking into your home part but also…yeah also all the other parts. Hope you are ok :/ )
My story is not as serious. But I almost got arrested for stealing my own car. It was stolen, and recovered, and the paperwork incorrectly filed. Got thrown up against the back of the car. Cop had his hand on his gun.
Came close to being arrested over paperwork error. Two deputies showed up with a warrant. Luckily they were confused and I was convincing in explaining the facts. They still wanted my job info, boss's name and number, threatened to come back if I didnt get a 7 year old ticket resolved right away.
Same but my was only for 8 hours due to a misfiling of my auto renewal, subsequent warrant never delivered, and accrued fines. Missed work but was able to have someone call in sick leave for me.
I paid $425 in penalties to "rectify" the situation not of my making or hire an attorney for more.
