It’s very funny to me that Star Wars Episode IX is the only one without a comic adaptation. It was delayed by supply shortages during the pandemic and by the time they cleared up Marvel or Lucasfilm or Disney was like “Actually, you know what, forget it”

Also, interesting PSP fact: Some games (most notoriously the DJ Max series) would check for ms0:/PSP/ISO (where ISO files for unauthorized copies were kept to be loaded) as an anti-piracy measure. Don't look up videos if you're sensitive to flashing lights, though.

I actually did use my PSP (though more my PSP Go when I traded it in after a jailbreak was discovered for that model) for that a bit in the pre-smartphone era, so point I guess. It's just a weird format IMO. Not quite a CD, not quite a minidisk.

The reveals come fast and hard in this second issue, with who's been orchestrating this, deaths, reconciliations, old enemies, and a real, genuine sense of, in a strange way, finality as well as a "life goes on" message that really feels like a proper end to Superman's story.

The second half of the story has the same restrictions as the first, but manages to take some time out for Superman to reflect on his mortality and his relationship with Lois and Lana. Death is a common theme in this issue, with many characters previously untouchable falling victim.

Swanderson return, gracing the cover of Action Comics 583 with their art, which is the art the cover of the Trade is based on. While Bolland's art is good, I'm in love with Swanderson's original; from Supes' expression to the detail of the buildings in the background, it's just beautiful.

Being a single standard issue, the story proceeds at a break-neck pace that effectively conveys Superman's life falling around him. The last page, a full spread of Superman sitting in his Trophy Room, surrounded by memories of his past, conveys a very human moment for a very literally Super man.

The first half of the story uses it's limited runtime to great effect, setting up a sense of confusion and befuddlement with the use of Bizarro, Prankster, and Toyman, some ominous foreshadowing with Luthor, Braniac, and Kryptonite Man, and an appearance by the Legion of Super-Heroes.

The paragraph is too long to fit in a post, but I think sums up the power of Superman as a character very well and sets the stage for the bittersweet, melancholy notes the story will hit. "A perfect man who came from the sky to do only good" is one of the best reads of Superman, in my opinion.

Of all the things the story is known for, the most famous is probably the interior title page, which exemplifies Moore's poetic writing style well, ending on the phrase "This is an IMAGINARY STORY... Aren't they all?"
