peanut butter, a dog, completed his first speedrun in front of a live (and very loud) audience during sgdq. it was not as easy as it looked. human -- rather than dog -- error nearly wrecked the whole thing

The worry was that Microsoft would get people to rely on subscription gaming completely and then enshittify the service beyond recognition, but they seem to be skipping that first part.

This is the entire view of the right and one they’re pushing out tons of propaganda about. It’s why we get 10,000 stories of people shoplifting from Walgreens and nothing about tax cheats even though it involves multitudes more money. They want to define crime as existing entirely within the poor

the boys has never been subtle — it has always been the complete opposite — but I think there’s a difference between being purposefully unsubtle and being so on the nose as to prompt an eye roll every several minutes. that’s the larger issue with this season, at least for me

Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

short version: it’s a really annoying glitch in the backend we use, which is provided by a company called lede. it usually clears itself up after a little while, but I agree! it sucks! we’ll pester them about fixing it

twitch has finally suspended nickmercs, a popular streamer who's been spewing anti-trans rhetoric for months, because he used an anti-trans slur. but the damage has already been done, and if twitch doesn't take further action, it will likely continue

I had to switch services -- from fios to this awful in-home 5G setup -- and instead of just adding a service to my preexisting account, they had to make a whole new one! then the app stayed signed into my old account, so the setup process just yielded an error page over and over. it was infuriating
