Some babes are born with #tails snipped at birth so no one knows, but my parents said they were #sacred and it remained. I was home schooled so no one knew I had a lizard’s tail which could detach if I was very afraid and grew back to make me whole again. More subtle still were my scales.

I grew up IN THE 90s. We didn't have "Xbox" or "iPhones". I drank FROM THE HOSE. My body FILLED UP WITH WATER. I inflated LIKE A GIANT BALLOON. My family BEGGED ME TO STOP. I flew off into the air SPRAYING WATER EVERYWHERE. It was ON THE NEWS. God won't LET ME INTO HEAVEN NOW. Can I get a HECK YEAH?

My sister & I should've been twins. Whatever she remembers, I forget. The reverse is also true, except she won't admit to forgetting anything. We had a third sister who remembered things that never happened; she's in the well. Did we invent her or kill her? I can't remember; my sister won't forget.

Old Robot recalls one machine which ate up books like jelly beans.
It chewed on words, descriptions, themes, then spat out what that book must mean in one short sentence on its screen.
That machine's heart was made of tin. It always gave a false reading.

Forget first lines in stories or books. Give me a gut-punching, heartbreaking, unforgettable last line. It's something I naturally strive for in my writing. Don't always land it, but I have some last lines that still give me chills no matter how many time I've read them. That's the dream
