Dear invert sky, can anyone tell me anything about this critter? Fathomverse has identified it as a bivalve, but I don't know if it actually is, since their IDs are crowdsourced. Does it even have a shell? Or are those bryozoans growing on one of those tunicates/sea slugs with the weird fake mouth?

I hate summer with a passion. This is the absolute worst time of the year. It's extremely hot, fireworks are still going off non-stop every night, it's light by 4am and to make matters worse my chronic back pain flared up slightly after my camping trips and I'm badly sleep deprived now.

Dysaethria sp. possibly D. illotata but I can’t tell it apart from D. moza or D. flavistriga. Unique looking as the back wings are folded and tucked close to body. Lake Matsubara, Koumi-machi, Nagano #Invertebrate #Insects

モスマン羽を広げると最大3メートルにもなる巨大昆虫僅かな光でも反射して赤く光る目が特徴で、目の付近にある模様によって実際よりも大きく見える体や羽は光を吸収してしまうため、暗闇では目以外は視認しずらい

Anelasma is not the only stalked barnacle that has gone down the parasitic road. Rhizolepas is a barnacle that has evolved to parasitise scale worms, and its closest relatives are other barnacles that make a habit of attaching to animals

『自分に問う / シルエット版』

時々急に人間の横顔を描きたくなります。今回も気軽な気持ちで描き出しましたが....実はちょっと精神的に暗くなることがあり絵も自然と暗い印象になっていきました。今回は自分でも驚くほどに分かりやすい絵だったので少し驚きもありました。絵はその時の心情がもろに出ますね本当に。

僕は絵を描くスタートは白い紙をボーっと見て、浮かんでくるイメージに沿ってなんとなく描くことが多いです。まぁだからこんな絵になったんでしょうね。あ～早く気持ち穏やかになりたいな～。

『お花見目指して』
小さな枝もコケダマちゃんには大きな傾斜です。一番眺めの良い枝の頂上を目指して元気よく歩く姿を描きました。A5サイズの紙に描きましたが自分的に丁度良いサイズに感じました。

It's been a while since I last updated this page, so here's an update: I drew some art on A5 size paper. I drew a scene of a small creature walking energetically toward the top of a branch.

While there are other barnacles that cling to marine animals such as whales or turtles, those are not related to Anelasma. Instead, the closest living relative of these shark-suckers are goose barnacles.

The eels song pops into my head every time I see any mention of eels. And every time I look at the moon I hear him saying "when you are the moon". Old Gregg is perhaps my favorite though. And the tundra episode. And I'm constantly saying "this is an outrage". It's just all so memorable!
