I didn't pay to see the full thing, but three paragraphs was a enough to know that they are arguing that research into trans medicine was manipulated. In favor of trans people. Fuck just about anyone still giving them money.

“Five Asian elephant calves were discovered buried on tea estates in northern West Bengal … Bruising on their backs suggested herd members had dragged their bodies over long distances to reach the tea estates for burial. In some cases, elephants traveled for 48 hours while carrying the dead calves”

👍 My About page online reads: “I am a truck, a train, a bulldog in a wind-tunnel; I’m also autistic. I live in the middle spaces where the contradictions are, containing bits of astral matter, aspects of both genders and possibly some dragons and vampires.” I am still she/her but also royal we.

So… I just wrote a book about Interwar trans rights… and tracked 1916 to 1933 as a specific step by step to this exact thing. I know you are busy. But if you wanted an ARC… it’s uncanny and terrifying. And we are sitting at about 1924 just now, almost to the dot. (It’s not our till 2025, Norton)

There's nothing actually "liberal" or "left" about solar panels! It's just one way to generate electricity! It's actually a pretty good way! You'd think people who consider themselves "pro-business" would be in favor of lowering costs for businesses by encouraging competition among suppliers.

TL;DR Brain development esp frontal lobes continues into your 20s but 25 isn't a magic cutoff

It’s slippery because you don’t make decisions with only your frontal cortex (which is all they measured). You temporal lobes, limbic system, hormone levels, your nutrition, your environment and education all play a role. Judging by ‘cortex change’ is like measuring intelligence by brain weight.

In neuroscience, maturity refers to the point at which brain change plateaus — not whether you can make decisions. And for many, the brain continues to change until death, so yup.

I will add—I know this brain science well from my research. Neuroscience can’t be reduced to a sound bite and neither can brains or individual people.

Yes! That’s where I started—yesterday I heard, yet again, the [insert marginal group] ‘cannot be allowed to make decisions because not 25.’ It’s hardly ever leveled at cishet white men—only those the right wants to take autonomy away from (trans, women, minority, etc etc)

(Yes I keep looking) Martin Luther King Jr became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery in 1954. In 1955, he would lead the famed Montgomery bus boycott AND earn his PhD as he turned 25.

The trouble with ‘Brain maturity at 25’ myth continues, as “anti-trans activists cite this as evidence young people should not be allowed to access lifesaving, gender-affirming care”
