Wow. Just heard some very damning things about Trump’s conduct while he was president, as well as before he was president, and after. He should drop out of the race.

Let x=(x_d)_{d in D} be a net in F. Then p(x_d)_{d in D} has an accumulation point b in B If x has no accumulation point in F_b, each f has an open U_f s.t. x eventually stays out of U_f. The cover {U_f} has finite subcover {U_i}. It follows p(x) eventually stays out of p[\cap U_i], a nbhd of b qed

Okay, you were right, I need more than subjectivity: I need openness, which I think is a reasonable relaxation of the fibre bundle requirement. In that case I've got a neat little proof using nets that the space must be compact, again using nets

The English word 'ecclesiastical' is derived from Ancient Greek 'ekklēsíā', which meant "assembly, congregation", and later "church". You wouldn't say it at first glance, but it's 'ekklēsíā' that became French 'église', Italian 'chiesa', Spanish 'iglesia', Portuguese 'igreja' – and many more: 1/

I thought about this and yes if you have a fibre bundle (i.e. the fibres can be locally identified), then this is certainly the case but I'm thinking about something slightly more general where the fibres don't have to be isomorphic I feel like a similar argument could still work, though...

Hmmm... actually hausdorfficy might be important I think I can prove it if a map being continuous is a closed condition: because then sections are a closed subset of the space of all functions, which is compact by Tychonoff Hausdorfficity could maybe guarantee that it's a closed condition?

Tychonoff's Theorem says that if the Axiom of Choice holds, then the product of any set of compact topological spaces is compact I have an intuition for a theorem that seems related: If F→B is a surjective map of topological spaces such that both B and every fibre F_b is compact then F is compact?
