We have a 2018 law in TX that if I rent a room of MY OWN HOUSE to a grad student, I can't have a no-guns-in-my-house-rule. If a private retailer wants no guns in their store, they have to take up streetfront window space with required signage. It goes on and on.

There are LOTS of things they want to regulate! In Texas, we have laws barring private corporations from all govt contracts if the company boycotts Israel, or divests from the fossil fuel industry or weapons manufacturers. Private companies are not allowed to require employees to get vaccinated.
