man i love @jbouie.bsky.social and the crossword but idk that i can continue to stomach a subscription--even for professional purposes--to an outlet that runs pro-monarchist, anti-democracy dreck on the 4th of july
I rationalised dropping mine by diverting the money I would've spent to their pod. JB was the big draw for me (with spelling bee and crosswords a nice bonus) so it felt only right
I don't know the guy and I don't wanna speak for him but if I worked my ass off doing history stuff and they put me on the same level as the guy who lies for some reason about the purity of not voting I would be deeply insulted
The New Yorker crossword isn’t as good because it’s not made by a Hoosier but it’s generally harder which I appreciate. Not that their politics writers are infallible but I had a hard time giving NYT money
Today genuinely felt like a breaking point. Everything this week has been building up the the stupid editorial and I think I’m about done too. Guardian is more than sufficient
use archive.is to read whatever you want to. I unsubscribed ages ago for their bullshit. the clown Walther even voted in 2020 & 2022. their op eds and guest essay don't feature people who want to build a better world but rather mediocre hacks
they know what they’re doing & clearly hold their audience in disdain. the excessive post-debate Biden agenda news is wildly overstepping too
Also can’t you get just a Games subscription?
