A great article on Infrastructure- how investing in planning exploring options & excellent consultation & then acting fast confident in the best solution. Is the cheapest best solution. Fast tracking consents isn’t the problem if the solution is wrong.

If the cost of IREX as planned is compared to the cost of just one or two of National's "Roads of National Significance", the cost doesn't seem excessive. Arguably the ferries are as important or more so than any single road and hell of a lot more environmentally friendly.

Te Pati grew the vote share not cut the pie differently. It was conscious & strategic. 6 seats from 3% - 2 more than their party split & let’s say. 80% Te Pati Māori electorate seat voters gave party vote to Labour. Right can’t complain they’ve done it for years with Epsom - Act 1 % -1 seat

Yes we have party vote. But 2023 -Māori have shown strategic vote splitting gave 2 additional seats of Maori representation - Ka Pai. Nats won so many electorates their sure bet list MPs didn’t get in - If the Lab Nat split was closer those 2 TPM seats would have given govt to Left

That’s happening already. The kids are studying great books paired with films modern and older. Last night we watched Hacksaw ridge studied as a model of intergenerational trauma - & my daughter chose Emma to contrast / compare to clueless ( she loves)

As Tangata Tetiriti - Payouts for farmers in Ao Nz stinks like plantation owners being compensated for abolition of slavery in a deal that took 150yrs to pay off - while victims of slavery are left dealing with intergenerational trauma. Commit to a buy back scheme - keep Whenua ownership in Nz.

Ok Nats went and talked to Truss for advice on policy & winning. ( strangely ) Labour / Hipkins go & embed yourselves in UK Lab strategy ( except for the Terf stuff- don’t want that). UK has a huge rebuild job. The conservatives have stripped UK for parts. Watch out Nats

Essentially your standard HWC becomes your battery ( & EV car ) I did the maths recently HWC &EV all charged when sunny - with maybe my office heater during day in winter. $10k 10Kw system would eat my summer power use & 1/3 ish reduction in winter. 6 yr payback. That’s fine by me.
